Kids Haven Childcare is committed to the safety and wellbeing of every child in our care. We have zero tolerance for child abuse, and we take every concern seriously.
What we do to keep children safe
- We follow the Victorian Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme.
- Every educator and staff member is screened when they are hired and must hold a current Working with Children Check or teacher registration.
- Our leaders complete child protection training, and all educators are mandatory reporters who know how to recognise and respond to abuse or neglect.
- Our Code of Conduct sets clear rules about appropriate behaviour between adults and children.
- Children are supervised at all times, and we keep clear boundaries between children and visitors, students and volunteers.
- We teach children about their right to feel safe, listen to them, and encourage them to tell a trusted adult if something worries them.
Every child is welcome
We promote cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and for children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and we provide a safe, inclusive environment for children with disability. We do not tolerate discrimination.
